Photoshop Phriday: COME TO PENN STAAAAATE!!!!!

Weems | Comments (0) | Penn State,Photoshop Phriday | March 2, 2012 12:57 pm

Earlier this week, Penn State and Bill O’Brien picked up 2 very good football commits to kick off their 2013 class. Since it’s BO’B's first real season recruiting, we though we’d give him some help to help push these kids over the edge and choose PSU. Here are Penn State’s top targets and what they will look like when they make the best decision of their lives.

“Believe deep down in your heart that you’re destined to do great things.”

Thanks for everything, Joe. Good luck coaching that old ball team in the sky. You will most certainly be missed.

Fun Fact of the Day

Weems | Comments (0) | Penn State | January 6, 2012 9:56 am

Bill O’Brien is reportedly going to hire Titans current Quality Control Coach (basically the bitch of the coaching staff) to be PSU’s next running backs coach.

Here’s your fun fact: Charles London started his coaching career at Duke University in 2004. He spent two years as a graduate assistant coach. In 2006, he became the full-time running backs coach.

Here’s the funnest fact of them all: IN 2006, DUKE WENT 0-12!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone needs to get it the fuck together. Now.

Silas Redd should just run away.

Apparently Penn State hired this butt-chinned dude who rides the coattails of the best coach in the NFL and one the best QBs of all time and was involved in Duke’s amazing 1-21 run. AND IT ONLY TOOK A MONTH. FUCKKKKK.

GREAT FUCKING WORK JOYNER!!!!!!!!!1  Way to take 2 months to replace a legend with some asshole that got in a pissing match with a Hall of Fame QB. So glad we rejected Al Golden for this!!!!!!1 Totes worth it!

At least he went to Brown like JoePa!!! Amirite?? Fuck everything.

As per Laschout, send hate mail here:

Photoshop Phriday: Pipe Dreams

Kizzle | Comments (0) | Photoshop Phriday | December 9, 2011 3:07 pm

As we all know, Penn State needs a new head coach. They’ve needed one for weeks. In the meantime, Tom Bradley endures as one hell of a dignified temporary replacement for Joe Paterno. PSU fans, students, and alums wait anxiously for Athletic Director, Dave Joyner, to fill the job. Meanwhile, recruits and commits continue to look elsewhere (mainly Ohio State). Today, Joyner said that the position is expected to be filled in the “next 30 days.” Whoop-eee! Take your time, guys. Really.

The Tom Bradleys, Al Goldens, and Dan Mullens of the world are realistic candidates to nab the job, yet there have been some pretty big names associated with the job floating around. Here are some coaches that in all likely won’t be coming to Happy Valley for a number of reasons, but keep popping up in conversations and on blog posts. In other words, they are just pipe dreams or bad ideas. And now they are wearing blue!

Quick Hit: Devon Still left off All-American Team

Kizzle | Comments (0) | Penn State | December 5, 2011 1:18 pm

Apparently, the whole world thinks that Penn State football players rape little kids.

First, the Insight Bowl picked Iowa (who PSU beat) over the Nittany Lions to play Oklahoma. Now, the coaches voted 2 Big Ten d-linemen to the All-American team, but left off Devon Still. If you’ve watched him play, you’d know that Still has been the most dominant DT in the whole country in 2011. In fact, he was recently named B1G’s defensive player of the year. That means he was the best defensive player in the whole Big Ten — not just best defensive tackle. He was better than every linebacker, safety, cornerback, defensive end, hero, rover, nose tackle… whatever you played, Still was better. Yet, somehow he’s not an All-American? Fuck you, world.

I understand the anger directed toward the coaches and officials previously employed by Penn State that failed to report Jerry Sandusky. Fine. But this current roster of kids played their asses off, overcame a historic controversy, almost won the Big Ten, and finished with a 9-3 record. It’s embarrassing to punish these players. ESPN failed to report Bernie Fine banging ball boys for a decade. Are you refusing to watch ABC and ESPN? Are you logging off If not, and you think these kids deserve the neglect they are getting, you are a hypocrite.

The worst part about it all, is the overall perception that Penn State students are receiving. They didn’t ask for this. They didn’t know it was going on. Hell, PSU’s students and alums have already raised over $500,000 in support of RAINN. Yet, there are still constant stories of other teams’ fans calling PSU students “fag lovers” and strangers on the street spitting on THON canners (who are spending their free time standing on the corner, raising millions of dollars to fight pediatric cancer). While these things are exponentially worse than leaving Devon Still off of some list, it all applies to the general perception of innocent teenagers.

In 5 years, when Penn State is still a football cash cow, still has the best travelling fan base in the nation, has Bill Cowher(!) leading the team to a top 5 ranking, and all these sponsors want to benefit off of PSU’s success, I hope the higher ups remember how the rest of the world treated these kids.

Quick Hit: Devon Still a Bronko Nagurski Finalist, Baller

Weems | Comments (0) | Penn State | November 17, 2011 10:34 am

Finally, some good news out of Happy Valley! That monster in the middle of Penn State’s defense wearing #71 is getting the props he deserves. Devon Still was just named one of 5 finalists for the Bronko Nagurski Award (nation’s top defensive player).

Still is 2nd in the nation with 15.0 tackles for a loss and has anchored the 8th ranked defense in the nation. He is great against the run and the pass, and Still is one of the only defensive tackles in college football that truly has an immediate impact on the outcome of the game. This honor is rightfully deserved. We should also shout out Larry Johnson Sr — who is PSU’s D-line coach (and now co-DC) — and one of the best (if not the best) position coaches in all of college football.

The Nagurski Award has been handed out since 1993, and despite having standouts on defense, no Penn Stater has ever won this award. Notable recipients of the Nagurski are Warren Sapp, Charles Woodson, Champ Bailey, Terrell Suggs, Brian Orakpo, and Ndamukong Suh.

You can watch Still eat Ohio State running backs (pause) this Saturday at 3:30.
