at least something positive happened last night

Nothing went well last night, as the Phils fell 15-9 against the Dodgers. No one pitched well, as even the “ever-reliable” Cy Kendrick gave up 5 earned in 3 1/3 innings and the bullpen didn’t fair much better. At least we got to see the above – our hero, Dom Brown’s first career home run – a line smash to right center off of Ronald Belasario. Here’s to hoping we see many more of those in the future. It may get a little harder to see Dom Bombs in the near future as Shane Victorino began his rehab stint in Lehigh Valley last night, going 1-2. While Dom will likely remain with the big league squad, he’s probably just going to be a bat of the bench/spot starter for the stretch run when Victorino returns to the everyday line up. A nation weeps.

victorino (possibly) hurt – bring up dom!

Shane Victorino left last night’s game with a strained oblique, and goes for an MRI today. Assuming he’s out for any period of time, it’s probably the best opportunity to bring up Domonic Brown. Dom would get a chance to play in right every day (Werth would move to center) and would likely bring some much-appreciated punch to an offense that until last week was as lifeless as George Steinbrenner (too soon?).
